Will Google include Twitter Lists in PageRank?

When Twitter Lists was introduced it made sense solely based on organizing those you follow and I’ve also posted about the lists being the foundation for niche social networks. Currently I’m fortunate enough to be on 4 lists.

As I look at these lists I believe that Google will start to utilize them to help PageRank. (If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of PageRank; click here.) As Goolge moves inexorably towards real time search, Twitter and Facebook will need to generate relevant results AND they must be weighted accordingly.

This can (and should) take several forms. Google should:

  1. weigh the Twitter List page
  2. weigh the individual user’s page included in the list
  3. and weigh the URL that is contained in the individual user’s page

We’ll see if Google moves in this direction.
